DKSH are pleased to announce our new relationship with FREEMAN TECHNOLOGY, a UK based company specialising in instruments for the measurement of powder flow properties. Freeman Technology have 10 years experience in the field of powder characterisation and their FT4 Powder Rheometer is the world's most advanced and versatile instrument for measuring powder flow and powder behaviour.

The FT4 has evolved into a universal powder tester, capable of measuring flow properties, shear properties and bulk characteristics, such as compressibility, permeability and density. Freeman Technology recognised that powders experience a range of conditions during processing and in application, so the FT4 has been engineered to simulate this range of conditions during a measurement and characterise the response of the powder to that specific environment.

Well defined and standard methodologies investigate how flow properties change as a function of consolidation, aeration/fluidisation, flow rate, moisture or the addition of a lubricant, such as magnesium stearate. In addition, process related variables such as storage time, electrostatic charge, caking, segregation, particle attrition or the amount of water used in a wet granulation process can also be evaluated.


在粉末堆積狀態,加工應力環境以及粉末組分產生變化時,如固結、充氣/流態化、流動速度、濕度或著添加硬脂酸鎂等流動助劑等,採用意義明確的FT4 標準測試方法,就可以研究粉末的流動性質是究竟怎樣相應地發生變化的。除此之外,一些與加工過程有關的變量。如貯存時間、靜電、結團、顆粒偏析、顆粒破碎或濕法造粒時的含水量等也都可獲得定量評估。
